Test Preparation Frequently Asked Questions
How does the product work? When you launch this product, you always begin at the same place-the Main Menu. The Main Menu button will always take you to the main menu page. This page contains six sections:
Why should I spend time looking at the review sections? How will this help me? The content reviews reflect the SAFE Act's testing content guidelines. The text serves as both a subject matter refresher and a study tool. It uses simple and clear explanations of key terminology and mortgage lending concepts, then provides unlimited opportunities to self-assess your understanding through review exams at the end of each module. [Return to top] How do the review exams work? These review exams pull questions from a larger pool of related questions. Note that you may see questions in a review exam that address content not specifically covered in the review materials. Make it a habit to review your exam results each time after you complete it so that you can read the rationales that accompany each question. These also provide a learning/review opportunity. [Return to top] What is the difference between a review exam and the comprehensive exam? The comprehensive 100-question practice exam resembles the content breakdown and types of questions you will see on the national MLO Test. It's important to note that this practice exam does NOT include real questions from the MLO Test, nor is the testing environment the same. When you sit for the actual MLO Test, you will be given ample time to take an online tutorial of how that testing system works. The practice exams available in this product are intended to give you a level of confidence about the content you need to know, and to give you an opportunity to experience taking a 100-question test. Note that the passing score on the national MLO Test is 75%. When you take the MLO Test, you will have 150 minutes to complete the national component. Even though the practice exams in this product are not timed, they will help you learn how to manage your time. [Return to top] How do I take an exam? To take an exam, simply click the Exam icon at the top of any content page in the module. The first screen is always an instruction page. Read this page carefully since it tells you how many questions are in the exam, the amount of time you have to take the exam, the passing score, and how many tries you get in order to pass. To retake an exam immediately after you've just taken it, select Retake Exam. This button appears after the exam has been submitted. Otherwise, simply select Exam again. [Return to top] How many times can I take the exams? With this product, you can take as many practice exams as you want. Since the questions are randomized from large pool of questions, each exam is unique-you never see the same exact questions in the same exact order. [Return to top] How can I see how I did on each of my practice exams? You can immediately see your results after you submit the exam by selecting View Exam Results. This only shows your last attempt. To see a history of all of your attempts, select Grade book from the left navigational area. [Return to top] |
